I know, I know: it is the 12th of January and I am just now posting about resolutions. Not very timely.
But, in all actuality, it is because my resolution for 2011 is to be more creative and to concentrate more on my art blog Two Crow Feather Woman. And I have been doing just that (being creative and actually working on my art blog a little) in between being sick.
Happy New Year: let’s be sick!
That was a side note.
I have been working on my faerie pub (The Dead Fly Pub), toying with how to make the creatures that will inhabit it, and contemplating how to make seven hand-made gifts for friends on Facebook. The pub is coming along slowly.
The creatures have formed in my head but not in the 3-dimensional world. (The ET head is going bye-bye for one thing).
And the Facebook thing…
I posted some silly thing about making something handmade to the first 5 people who commented. 7 people commented, but 2 were my kids. One of my children just wants something homemade like cookies or bread. I figured relatives notwithstanding, I should honor all 7 comments and make something for each commenter. Oy.
To be fair, I am inspired. I just have to develop what I am just beginning to see in my head for the first person. That may take a little more time because sometimes I mull things over for a long time, especially 3-D things. I want my gifts to be special, not just thrown together out of obligation. I want the person receiving to know I was thinking of them when I was creating. And I want the creation to tell a story.
So that is where I am at.
And, really, aside from having been sick since the 4th, I’m having fun.
ttfn!
