It is one of my favorite toys. It’s old, well-used and carefully handled.
It’s my kaleidoscope, of course. Every adult (and every kid) should have one. Puts the world in a whole new perspective and takes the edge off of a bad day. It brings a smile to your face.
I bet it brought a smile to your face, too. And I bet it didn’t surprise anyone who knows me well that I have a kaleidoscope.
Mine is a very simple one: the tube is lined with 3 long narrow mirrors and the viewer is a large glass ball at the end that distorts the image onto the mirrors. That’s all there is to it. It cost more than one of those cheap carnival ones with the pretty colored rocks, and the images you can find on mine are infinitely more interesting and varied.
I’m jazzed that the photos came out: I took some without flash and some with flash, and the results were equally good.
I love kaleidoscopes! My mom still has the one from when we were kids and now her great grandkids love it too. I had no idea you could get a picture through a kaleidoscope! Great job!
I didn’t know I could take photo through one, either. You never know until you try! 🙂
Very creative.
